Privacy Policy
In short
- Your journals are stored in your own Telegram account (Telegram Cloud Storage), not on our server.
- Nobody, including your teacher, can read your journal. A teacher only receives a page or question you choose to send.
- Anonymous questions are sent without your name, username or session number.
- We store only what is needed to run classes: class names and codes, and which teachers are approved.
- No ads, no analytics trackers, no selling or sharing your data, and we don’t use it to train AI.
1. Who we are
AfterClass (“we”, “us”) is an independent learning tool that runs inside Telegram as a Mini App of the bot @reflection_kh_bot, with this website at afterclass.limchanvirakyoth.workers.dev. AfterClass is not made by or affiliated with Telegram. This policy explains what data AfterClass handles, why, and the choices you have.
2. What we handle, and where it is kept
| Data | Why | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your journals and reflections (class names, topics, moods, answers, session numbers) | To give you your journal | Telegram Cloud Storage, linked to your Telegram account and this bot. Our server does not keep a copy. |
| App data on your device (language, last opened journal, unfinished draft, and a copy of your journals so the app opens instantly) | So the app opens quickly, where you left it | Your device only (the app’s local storage), kept separately for each Telegram account. Your language choice is also saved in Telegram Cloud Storage. |
| Telegram profile info Telegram gives the app (ID, first and last name, username, language) | To greet you, choose your language and verify that requests really come from you | Used while handling your request. Not stored, except as listed in the rows below. |
| A page you send to a teacher, with your name and username | To deliver it, at your request | Passed through our server to the teacher’s Telegram chat with the bot. Not stored by us. The teacher keeps the message. |
| An anonymous question (class name, date, question) | To deliver it, at your request | Same as above, but your name, username and session number are not included. |
| Sending counter (your Telegram ID and a number) | To prevent spam: at most 5 messages to teachers per minute | Cloudflare’s rate limiter, for about a minute. Not stored in our database. |
| PDF of a journal | To send it to you, at your request | Created on your device, passed through our server to your own chat with the bot. Not stored by us. |
| Classes (class name and code; the teacher’s Telegram ID, name, username and language; creation date) | So students can join and send to the right teacher | Our database, until the teacher closes the class. |
| Teacher requests and approvals (Telegram ID, name, username, language, requested class name) | So that only approved teachers can create classes | Our database. Requests expire after 7 days. Approvals are kept until an admin removes them. |
| Messages you send with /contact | To answer you | Forwarded to the AfterClass admins in Telegram. |
| Technical data (IP address, browser and request details, error logs) | To run the service securely | Processed by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and kept briefly in its logs. |
Students choose whether to link a journal to a class. Linking does not share anything by itself, and no list of which students joined a class is kept anywhere.
3. Who else can see your data
- Your teacher sees only the pages and anonymous questions you send.
- AfterClass admins see teacher requests and messages sent with /contact. They cannot see your journal.
- Service providers: Telegram (stores your journal and delivers messages, under Telegram’s Privacy Policy) and Cloudflare (hosts our website and server). When you open the app or website, your device also loads fonts from Google Fonts and Telegram’s script from telegram.org, which means those services receive your IP address.
- Authorities, only if we are required to by law.
We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI models.
4. Keeping and deleting your data
- Delete a page or a journal in the app, or everything at once with Menu → Delete all my data. This removes it from Telegram Cloud Storage.
- Pages and questions you already sent stay in the teacher’s Telegram chat. Ask your teacher to delete them if needed.
- Teachers can delete a class with
/closeclass CODE. - To ask for any other data to be deleted, or for a copy, send
/contactand your request to @reflection_kh_bot.
5. Security
Every request from the app carries data signed by Telegram, which our server checks before doing anything. All connections use HTTPS. AfterClass has no passwords to steal. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store to a minimum.
6. Children and students
AfterClass is for students using Telegram, who must meet Telegram’s minimum age. If you are under 18, use AfterClass with the permission of a parent, guardian or your school.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell users in the bot.
8. Contact
Questions or requests: open @reflection_kh_bot and send /contact followed by your message.
This policy is also available in Khmer. If the two versions differ, the English version applies.
